The One Day of the Year

Friday 25th April 2025

Today is Anzac Day and there are quite a few Aussies on board and one ex New Zealander.  Karen, our Tour guide who is English organised a nice ceremony. The night before she took a poll on time preferred, either 6am or 10am.  10am won.  She asked Paul to do the honours which he did to much acclaim. It was really nice

Our cruise left Korcula and headed to Sipan. nice views on the way.

Lunch today was great and i even took a phot of the menu for the day just as an example:

I could eat most of it except for the banana cake but a special dessert was organised for me. A banana split which looked much nicer than a slice of banana cake. There was quite a bit of dessert envy.

And then after lunch, another swim. (At least an hour after so not too close to food, is that still a thing?)

We actually had some photos taken in case proof is required. We both swam today and on two previous occasions.  It was very cold today as the outside temperature was cooler and no warm exhaust fan from the boat. Thank God for the hot spa afterwards.

this is the rope anchoring us to the shore while we do our swim. Note the repair job.

Paul and me swimming. It is very cold , maybe 14 degrees

We finally arrived in Sipan, a very sleepy village along a pretty bay.

We then had quite a lot of free time, time to indulge in one of the group's favourite things. Cat spotting.

This cat came over to the gangplank as we were disembarking (yes) and jumped up onto the thing and asked for attention. Odd in a cat

The lady above is one of the cat couple who are cat lovers and are going to open an upmarket cat hotel. The three of us are known as the cat people and someone took a photo of all of us stroking this cat. I don't have that photo luckily.

I now have 2 cat t-shirts.

We did a walk around the bay with some others and ended up in a bar having a drink.

This is our ship moored really really close to this building. Great captaining steering skills.

us before our walk. I am wearing one of my cat t-shirts.

It is a very pretty place.

The bar photo:

The only open bar we could find. They are not ready for tourists just yet.

Our wine. very nice.

Us on board, Note the T-Shirt

Back on board for dinner

dinner

all GF

Paul's cheesecake

Mine without a base. still very good.

Nice red with dinner

After dinner, we had a musical trivia event. We insisted on being in the same teams as the original trivia night as Alan told us he was a music fan.  And he certainly was as he won the trivia pretty much single-handedly. Our prize tonight was the liquor below. It was like drinking fire and not as nice as the prize the other night.

Dancing afterwards was nice leading to a very late night for us, 11ish. Others danced till nearly midnight. Party animals.

Tomorrow, we sail to Dubrovnik and prepare for disembarking for good the next day.
